Race against the clock in the Flèche and Chamois tests! On official courses supervised by esf Les 2 Alpes, put your slalom skills to the test, improve your times and challenge yourself.
Open to everyone, these exciting events are a great opportunity to test your performance, progress and push your limits!
Flèche & Chamois: timed tests
Fancy racing against the clock and pushing your limits?

The Flèche, Chamois and Ski/Snowboard Cross events are open to all experienced skiers and snowboarders who have achieved Étoile d’Or or Class 3 level and are looking for a challenge and an adrenaline rush!

  • Flèche: Giant Slalom, with wider turns.
  • Chamois: Slalom, with tighter turns.
  • Ski/Snowboard Cross: a technical course featuring a variety of obstacles and terrain features, such as whoops and banked turns.

Your result is calculated as a percentage of the reference time set by an English-speaking esf instructor acting as the course opener.

These events also count towards the national Ski Open rankings.

Weekly programme
I'd like to take part in a race
  • Online registration: at least 2 hours before the race.
  • Registration at an esf office: for morning races, by 18h00 the day before at the latest; for afternoon races, before 13h00 on the day of the race.
  • Minimum level: participants must have achieved at least Étoile d’Or or Class 3 level.
  • The competition programme is published weekly and may vary throughout the season. Outside the French school holidays, Flèche and Chamois events are held only on certain mornings.
  • On the day of the event, please arrive at the stadium hut at least 45 minutes before the start to collect your race bib. You’ll then have the opportunity to familiarise yourself with the course by skiing alongside it.
Please note that events may be cancelled if conditions are unsuitable. If an event is cancelled, please visit an esf office to arrange a refund or, if the event is postponed, reschedule your booking.

Is the ski pass included in the lesson price?
No, the ski pass is not included in the lesson price. Please make sure you purchase your ski pass in advance.For more information about ski passes and prices, please visit our dedicated ‘Get a ski pass’ page.
Is insurance included in the lesson price?
No, esf does not provide insurance for its pupils. We recommend checking your existing insurance cover and, if necessary, taking out Assur'Glisse insurance.

Can a competition be cancelled?
Yes. If weather or snow conditions are unsuitable, for example due to poor visibility, esf may have to cancel an event.

If this happens, please visit an esf office to arrange a refund or, if the event has been postponed, to reschedule your booking.
